Don’t Let Dry Air Rule
Every Winter
Static shocks on the doorknob, cracked lips, and a furnace that runs nonstop. That is dry air talking. A whole-home humidifier from Pelles puts the moisture back where it belongs, quietly and automatically, all season long. Pelles has been helping Southern Butler County and Northern Allegheny County families enjoy that feeling since 1997.

WHY IT MATTERS
Signs your home could use a humidifier
FREQUENT STATIC SHOCKS
Zapping yourself on doorknobs, light switches, or the dog is a classic sign the air is too dry.
DRY, ITCHY SKIN
If lotion stops working by lunchtime, the air inside is likely the real culprit.
CRACKED WOOD AND TRIM
Hardwood floors, furniture, and even musical instruments can crack or gap as moisture is pulled out of the wood.
WAKING UP WITH A DRY THROAT
Dry air irritates the nose and throat overnight, which can mean rougher mornings for the whole family.
ROOMS THAT FEEL COLD AT NORMAL TEMPS
Dry air feels cooler than humid air, so you may find yourself cranking the thermostat higher than usual.
PLANTS STRUGGLING INDOORS
If houseplants start browning at the edges every winter, low humidity may be part of the story.
THE PAYOFF
What you actually get with a whole-home humidifier
Once the furnace kicks on for the season, indoor humidity in most Butler and Allegheny County homes drops well below comfortable levels, sometimes into the teens. That thin, dry air pulls moisture from your skin, your sinuses, and even your hardwood floors and trim. A humidifier tied into your heating system solves the problem at the source, so you don’t need to keep a pitcher of water on every windowsill.
COMFORT AT A LOWER SETTING
Properly humidified air holds warmth better, so many homeowners are comfortable at a slightly lower thermostat setting.
HEALTHIER SKIN AND SINUSES
Balanced humidity helps ease dry skin, chapped lips, and irritated sinuses, especially for family members prone to allergies.
PROTECTION FOR YOUR HOME
Wood floors, trim, doors, and furniture hold up better when the air around them isn’t swinging from bone dry to humid.
FEWER STATIC SHOCKS
Moisture in the air reduces the static buildup that makes touching metal, fabric, or even the family cat an unpleasant surprise.
SET IT AND FORGET IT
A whole-home unit works automatically with your furnace and a humidistat, unlike portable units you have to refill by hand.
BETTER REST FOR EVERYONE
Fewer dry coughs and stuffy noses overnight can mean better sleep for both kids and adults.

FAQs
Common questions our customers have about humidifiers
We serve Mars, Cranberry Township, Southern Butler County, and areas north of Pittsburgh. Give us a call at 724-625-2444 and we’ll get a technician out to assess your home.
Yes. Like any mechanical system, ventilation systems need periodic filter changes and inspections to keep them running well. Our NATE-certified technicians (North American Technician Excellence) are experienced in the maintenance and care of fresh air and ventilation systems.
If you’re noticing condensation on windows, musty smells, or family members with worsening allergies indoors, those are strong signs that you and your home can benefit from a ventilation system. Our technicians can assess your home’s air quality and tell you honestly whether a ventilation upgrade makes sense, or whether a smaller fix will do the job.
Not with the right equipment. Energy and heat recovery ventilators are built specifically to bring in fresh air without losing the conditioned air you’ve already paid to heat or cool. That’s the whole point of the technology.
Your heating and cooling system moves air around the house and adjusts temperature. It doesn’t bring in new outdoor air. A ventilation system’s whole job is that exchange, fresh air in, stale air out, so the two systems actually work together rather than doing the same thing.
Opening windows helps sometimes, but it’s not reliable. It lets in outdoor allergens, undoes your heating and cooling efficiency, and isn’t practical in winter or summer. A ventilation system exchanges air continuously and automatically, without the energy loss.
Yes. Our NATE-certified technicians (North American Technician Excellence) install UV light systems on virtually any ducted heating and cooling equipment, regardless of who installed it originally. If you’re not sure whether your system qualifies, give us a call.
Not usually. Most systems mount directly into your existing ductwork near the indoor coil, and installation is typically finished in a single visit. There’s no rework needed on your duct system itself.
No, and it isn’t meant to. Filters and UV lights solve different problems. Filters trap particles as air passes through. UV lights target the biological growth living inside your system. Used together, they cover more ground than either one alone.
Most UV bulbs are rated for one to two years of continuous use before they need replacing. Beyond that, there’s very little to maintain. We check bulb function during your regular maintenance visits so it’s never something you have to track yourself.
