FRESH AIR AND VENTILATION • BUTLER CO. & SURROUNDING AREAS

Better Air Starts With Better Ventilation

Modern homes are sealed tight to save on energy. That’s great for your utility bill, but it traps stale air, moisture, and pollutants inside. A good ventilation system fixes that. It brings fresh outdoor air in and pushes stale indoor air out, without wasting the energy you’re using to keep your home comfortable. Pelles Heating & Cooling has been helping families in Southern Butler County and north of Pittsburgh breathe easier for nearly 30 years. Every home. Every time.

Signs your home needs better ventilation

Stale air doesn’t always announce itself. Here’s what homeowners usually notice first when fresh air can’t get in:

  • WINDOWS FOG UP OR COLLECT MOISTURE, EVEN WHEN IT'S NOT THAT COLD OUTSIDE

  • THE HOUSE FEELS STUFFY OR "CLOSED IN," NO MATTER THE SEASON

  • MUSTY SMELLS LINGER IN BATHROOMS, BASEMENTS, OR CLOSETS

  • FAMILY MEMBERS DEAL WITH MORE ALLERGY OR ASTHMA SYMPTOMS AT HOME THAN ELSEWHERE

  • COOKING ODORS OR CLEANING FUMES SEEM TO HANG AROUND FOR HOURS

  • YOU NOTICE MOLD OR MILDEW FORMING IN CORNERS OR ON CEILINGS

FAQS

Common questions our customers have about fresh air and ventilation solutions

We serve Mars, Cranberry Township, Southern Butler County, and areas north of Pittsburgh. Give us a call at 724-625-2444 and we’ll get a technician out to assess your home.

Yes. Like any mechanical system, ventilation systems need periodic filter changes and inspections to keep them running well. Our NATE-certified technicians (North American Technician Excellence) are experienced in the maintenance and care of fresh air and ventilation systems.

If you’re noticing condensation on windows, musty smells, or family members with worsening allergies indoors, those are strong signs that you and your home can benefit from a ventilation system. Our technicians can assess your home’s air quality and tell you honestly whether a ventilation upgrade makes sense, or whether a smaller fix will do the job.

Not with the right equipment. Energy and heat recovery ventilators are built specifically to bring in fresh air without losing the conditioned air you’ve already paid to heat or cool. That’s the whole point of the technology.

Your heating and cooling system moves air around the house and adjusts temperature. It doesn’t bring in new outdoor air. A ventilation system’s whole job is that exchange, fresh air in, stale air out, so the two systems actually work together rather than doing the same thing.

Opening windows helps sometimes, but it’s not reliable. It lets in outdoor allergens, undoes your heating and cooling efficiency, and isn’t practical in winter or summer. A ventilation system exchanges air continuously and automatically, without the energy loss.

Yes. Our NATE-certified technicians (North American Technician Excellence) install UV light systems on virtually any ducted heating and cooling equipment, regardless of who installed it originally. If you’re not sure whether your system qualifies, give us a call.

Not usually. Most systems mount directly into your existing ductwork near the indoor coil, and installation is typically finished in a single visit. There’s no rework needed on your duct system itself.

No, and it isn’t meant to. Filters and UV lights solve different problems. Filters trap particles as air passes through. UV lights target the biological growth living inside your system. Used together, they cover more ground than either one alone.

Most UV bulbs are rated for one to two years of continuous use before they need replacing. Beyond that, there’s very little to maintain. We check bulb function during your regular maintenance visits so it’s never something you have to track yourself.
